Why good ads stop working

Most businesses run the same two or three ads for months and watch performance slide. The platforms have changed. Meta's delivery system now works by matching different messages to different people, and it needs a range of creative to do that. Three ads give it very little to work with.

The businesses getting results are not always spending more. They are giving the platform more to work with — more angles, more hooks, more formats — and letting the data decide what wins. That is how we build campaigns.

Ways to Work With Us

Advertising isn't one-size-fits-all. Most clients start in one of two places.

Always-On Advertising

For businesses that want a steady, continuous flow of enquiries

  • Runs month to month with no end date — you can stop whenever you choose
  • A new campaign built every month, shaped by what the previous month produced
  • Fresh ad creative and copy every month — this is the main reason ads keep working past month two
  • Audience targeting, budget management and continuous optimisation
  • Remarketing to people who visited your site but didn't enquire
  • Weekly reporting through your first month, monthly after that
  • Every ad approved by you before it goes live

Campaign Advertising

For one specific push, with a beginning and an end

  • Built around a single objective — you tell us the one thing this campaign must achieve
  • A defined start date and end date, agreed before we begin
  • Creative and copy made for that campaign only
  • Budget planned to last the full campaign period, not burn out in week one
  • Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, depending on the objective
  • A close-out report showing what the campaign produced
  • No ongoing commitment — run one, or run one each quarter

Common objectives: leads and enquiries · sales · website traffic · foot traffic to your premises · building an email list · promoting a competition · event attendance · brand awareness

Every engagement is quoted to your business, your market and your objectives. Book a scoping call and we'll come back to you with a proposal.

Already advertising and want to scale? We also run higher-intensity campaigns with a much larger volume of creative and daily optimisation, for businesses with the budget to grow aggressively. Mention it on the call.

What we need from you

For one specific push, with a beginning and an end

  • Your logo, brand colours and any existing brand assets
  • Access to your Facebook Page and Instagram account
  • Access to your website, so we can set up tracking
  • Prompt approval on creative — nothing goes live without your sign-off, so a slow approval delays the campaign

Don't have an ad account set up yet? That's not a problem — we'll get it in place as part of onboarding.

Your ad spend is separate. Your advertising budget is paid to the platform directly and stays entirely yours. Our fee covers strategy, creative and management. You keep ownership of your ad account, your audiences and your data — if you ever leave us, all of it stays with you.

Why Paid Advertising Works

Reach people who don't follow you yet

Your posts reach the people who already follow you. Advertising reaches everyone else. That's the whole difference, and it's why a business with two hundred followers can still fill its diary from social media.

Once customers are familiar with your brand, they are more likely to recommend your brand to friends and family. The brand should not constantly hammer the presence, whereas it should be subtle enough to make an impact. Sticking to a particular theme of colours and fonts will help your brand awareness.

Show your ads to the right people

For any company to stay afloat, it needs a loyal clientele base. New customers are a happy addition, but without loyalists, the conversion rates would be somewhere between sad and non-existent. Advertising on social media creates an open service platform. Where customers can express their views and feelings about services and products offered.

By listening to consumer opinions, customer satisfaction levels rise and along with the loyalty to your brand is increased. The consumers will be more impressed with your turn around time and appreciate the company more.

Bring back the ones who didn't enquire

Most people don't buy the first time they see you. Remarketing puts your business back in front of the people who visited your website or engaged with your ad and then got distracted. It's usually the cheapest lead you'll buy.

You can see exactly what it costs

Compared to conventional marketing, social media marketing does not require a lot of monetary resources. With an internet connection and computers, a company can minimise its marketing costs by a significant margin. As the business landscape continues to evolve, traditional marketing methods begin to fade out in favour of less resourcefulness methods.

Therefore, using social media to market products and services is an efficient way of reducing companies’ costs. Social Media platforms do most of the work in terms of an investment. The business needs a consistent theme, tonality and an effective marketing strategy to make use of the platforms. The costs are greatly reduced as more numbers of people can be reached with the same amount of monthly budget.

Start small, then scale what works

You don't have to commit a large budget to find out whether it works. Start modestly, find the message that lands, then put more behind the thing that's already producing. Most of the waste in advertising comes from scaling before you've found the winner.

Also Need Someone Running Your Pages?

Advertising and social media management are two different things. Advertising is paid — it puts your ads in front of people who don't follow you yet. Management is the organic side: the posts on your page, the content calendar, the replies to comments and messages.

Advertising works better when the page behind it looks alive, so many clients run both. We handle day-to-day social media management — content planning, graphics, scheduling and community responses — either on its own or alongside your advertising.

FAQs

  • What does social media advertising cost?

There are two separate numbers: your ad spend, which you pay to the platform, and our management fee. Both depend on your market, your objectives and how competitive your space is. We scope every client individually rather than selling a fixed package — book a call and we'll come back to you with a figure.

  • How much do I need to spend on ads?

More than you might expect, and less than you might fear. The platform needs enough data to work out who responds to your ads, so a budget that's too thin never gets past the learning stage and wastes what you did spend. We'll tell you honestly in the scoping call whether your budget will give the campaign a fair run.

  • Do you make the ads, or do I supply them?

We make them. Creative and copy are included — statics, short video and carousels. If you need a much higher volume of creative for testing, we offer that as a separate service.

  • How long before I see results?

The first two to three weeks are a learning period while the platform works out who responds. Judge a campaign on its second month, not its first. Anyone promising results in week one is guessing.

  • Who owns the ad account?

You do. We work inside your account, not ours. Your audiences, your data and your campaign history stay with you.

  • Should I be on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn?

Facebook and Instagram together suit most consumer businesses, and it usually costs nothing extra to run both. LinkedIn is the better choice for B2B, particularly for reaching decision-makers. We'll advise based on where your customers actually are.

  • What happens when my monthly budget runs out?

Your ads stop until the next cycle begins. Ads run for as long as the budget lasts, which is why we plan the daily spend against the length of the month rather than letting a campaign burn through everything in the first fortnight.

  • Do I need a landing page for the ads to point at?

Not always — for many campaigns your existing website works. But if you're running a specific promotion or collecting leads, a dedicated landing page usually converts better than a general page. We build those too, quoted separately.

  • Am I locked into a contract?

No. There are no long-term contracts. You can pause, hold or stop whenever you need to.
